     Through Facebook social media I stumbled onto a photography group that immediately caught my attention.  On Facebook I am connected with photographer Mike South whom happens to be a member of this group.  I began to follow his posts more frequently and was introduced through social media to the founders of Xposure101 Photography Conference,  Pro photographers Shawn Lee and Keith B Dixon, two men of color that are making a difference and excelling to amazing heights in this business of photography.  

      Xposure101 Photography Conference which is in its second year and hosts over 400 photographers from around the country for three days of high level instruction is based in Detroit, MI the hometown of Shawn Lee.  For sometime now I was looking to become a part of an amazing photography group, something bigger than me.  A place where I can learn and continuously grow in photography and other areas.  I'm a firm believer that you never stop learning, you're never too old to learn, there is always someone out there that is better than you.  Education is key and one of the attributes that I was looking for in a photography group.  In this world of digital photography there is always something new in technology to learn.  I wouldn't want to be part of a group where other photographers think that they know it all and that they are better than others around them.  

      Shawn Lee and Keith B Dixon were now bringing Xposure101 conference to Greensboro, NC. in association with Photobiz known for making amazing websites for photographers and artists, backed by the industry's best customer care.  The conference was held three days over the weekend and the price was just right.  The cost of the conference was $49 which was open to all skill levels of photographers.  Topics covered in the conference were: Lighting Techniques, In-Person Photo Sales, Branding Online, Photo walks, and much more   The training was presented by pro photographers; Shawn Lee, Keith B Dixon, Jenn Lewis and Mike South.  

      Well, if you know me personally you would already know that I was totally excited and extremely enthusiastic about this conference.  The entire weekend was pretty amazing and I left the conference with more knowledge of photography and the business of photography.  Shawn Lee and Keith B Dixon announced the Xposure101 conference in Detroit that was coming up in May.  After the successful turnout in Greensboro they wanted us to be a part of that experience as well and guess what?  I was.  Below are a few pictures of the Xpsoure101 conference in Greensboro.   To see more of my work and find out more information about Xposure101 conference, Photobiz,  and future tour dates please go to the websites listed below.

                                                                                           The Millions More Movement                          October 15th 2005 The Millions More Movement took place on October 15th, 2005.   A broad coalition of African American leaders launched the movement to commemorate the 10th Anniversary of the Million Man March. Ten key issues identified by the movement organizers were: Unity, Spiritual Values, Education, Economic Development, Political Power, Reparations, Prison Industrial Complex, Health, Artistic/Cultural Development, and Peace.
